Does windows 7 clients work well with l2tp/ipsec using strongswan?

Hi,
Recently i set up vpn on vps with ubuntu 11.10. I have configured
l2tp/ipsec using strongswan.
I tested the vpn by ios/android/win7 behind nat. All goes well. I can use
my ipod touch to watch
youtube videos well. The only problem i face is in win7 i can access common
sites or play wow
through vpn. But i cant download files from websites or watch youtube
videos.When i do such things,
the tunnel seems to be hang, at the same time i cant access other sites
too.But ping still works well.
And i must reconnect to return normal. I dont give any configure or logs
here, just want to know
if it is a normal situation.

finally i got it solved by lowering the mtu of the vpn interface.hope
it helps some one meeting the same
problem as me.

Hi,

I didnt try much to find the exact suitable mtu . And I only adjust the
default win7 vpn mtu (which is at the client side) from 1400 down to 1300
and problem got fixed.

Did you have to decrease the MTU of the VPN interface? Was this the MTU on
your gateway running strongswan or the endpoint as well? If so, how much
did you have to decrease by? I am not having the same issues but I am
currently investigating MTU negotiation issues over ipsec.
